Channel Program Automation leader Channel Mechanics delight in announcing the awarding of our SOC 1 and SOC 2 TYPE II Certification. The certification is the result of completing a SOC 1 and SOC 2 (Service Organisation Control ) TYPE II Audit, with zero exceptions. The successful completion by Channel Mechanics of the SOC 1 and SOC 2 TYPE II audit demonstrates our continuing commitment to data security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy. The awarding of our SOC certification follows the SOC attestation reports by Certicus Ltd., a leading international assurance provider which specializes in ISAE SOC audits.
What is SOC TYPE II?
At its simplest, a SOC TYPE II audit is a report written by a third-party auditor to answer the question; “Are you secure?”. The certification demonstrates that an independent auditing firm reviewed and examined an organization’s control objectives and activities. With all controls tested to ensure operational effectiveness. It ensures a company has established and follows strict information security policies and procedures. These policies cover the security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy of customer data. As defined by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA).
The Five SOC 2 Principles
To achieve certification, Channel Mechanics underwent two testing periods throughout the year. During the audits evidence was provided to, and reviewed by, third party auditors. The concluding report determined that by following our controls, zero exceptions were found. Thereby giving us a clean “Independent Service Auditors Report”.
Customer Concerns in Relation to Security and Privacy
- How we protect their company’s data from potential threats
- What are the critical security controls we have implemented to ensure the security of their data
- The type of testing we perform to ensure the effectiveness of our security controls
“Preserving the security and privacy of our customer data is of the utmost importance for Channel Mechanics. This audit demonstrates our 100% commitment to protecting the data of our customers and their channel partners. As CISO, my priority is to ensure our customers have trust and confidence in the security of our platform. In an age where cyber-attacks are increasingly frequent, companies are progressively more concerned around security and privacy. In particular, from talking with customers I was able to address their three main concerns, as mentioned above.”
Geraldine Powderly, CISO for Channel Mechanics
What SOC Means for our Customers
As a Software as a Service (SaaS) provider, customers grant Channel Mechanics access to specific customer data. This creates a level of risk for our customers. The type of access granted and the type of systems we have access to, ultimately determines the level of risk for our customers.
Channel Mechanics SOC 1 and SOC 2 certification provides assurance that we follow security best practices. The report gives a deep description of our security controls & transparency of our test results from a 3rd party auditor. By having SOC 1 and SOC 2 certification, Channel Mechanics is ensuring a reliable platform for our customers. Why? Because the success or failure of these controls has a direct or indirect impact on the reputation, financial statements and stability of their organization. As such, it provides a solid tool for our customers and their auditors, providing assurance that the controls surrounding our service are designed & operating effectively.
“ I am very proud of the entire Channel Mechanics Team. Achieving SOC TYPE II certification takes a significant amount of commitment and effort. And to achieve both SOC 1 & SOC 2 TYPE II in the same year shows the commitment of the team to the security of our customer’s data.”
Kenneth Fox, CEO, Channel Mechanics
