Frank Owusu Kamara, IT Operations Engineer

Channel Mechanics delights today in announcing our latest appointment, with Frank Owusu Kamara taking up the position of IT Operations Engineer. 

A native of Ghana, Frank came to live in Ireland 16 years ago. He graduated from the Galway-Mayo Institute of technology in 2012, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in computer science. Following on from this frank acquired further learning in Cisco Certification Network (Administrative Support Staff) at the PFH Technology Training Centre Galway.

In his early career, Frank worked with Senaca Security Group for Shell in Mayo where he took on the role of CCTV operator. Frank decided to once again expand his knowledge, acquiring certifications in CompTIA+ Network, CCNA, ISTQB.

In 2018, Frank started working for Avaya, taking on the role of Global IT Field Services Engineer. In 2020, due to his hard work and commitment, he was promoted to Global IT Operating System Analyst. Throughout his time here, Frank was responsible for data analysis, project management, troubleshooting, maintaining security settings and more. Whilst working in Avaya, he successfully resolved troubleshooting tickets and a variety of intricate technical issues.

Outside of work, Frank has a passion for volunteering. He is a dedicated volunteer for the Ard Family Resources Centre in Galway. Here, Frank teaches cultural dancing and provides the elderly with basic computer skills.

Frank’s passion for helping others doesn’t stop there! He is the chairman of the Ghanaian Union in Ireland as well as the co-founder of Shining Light Galway. Shining Light Galway works to support refugees in Galway. Frank is responsible for working with the Interagency Group for the Refugee Resettlement Programme & Integration Strategy.

Outside of work and volunteering, Frank is a junior pastor at Word Alive Ministry Bible Church in Galway. Frank also enjoys football and coaches his local under 9s team.
