Channel Mechanics delights today in announcing the appointment of James Duffy. James joins the team in the position of Senior Marketing Executive.

Born in Birmingham, England, James moved to Ireland in 2001 where he grew up in Athlone. In 2011, he graduated from the University of Galway with a BA in English and Sociology and Politics.

Following the completion of his degree, James moved to Dublin where he worked for Paddy Power. Firstly in a customer support role, before then moving into the online marketing team. Within this role, he specifically managed the Paddy Power and Betfair UK & Ireland and International websites for several years. While working there, James also completed a Diploma in Digital Marketing and social media at the Fitzwilliam Institute in Dublin.

Following this, he joined the Irish-owned SaaS company SoftCo, where he worked for three years, across both content and digital marketing.

In 2020, James decided to move back to Galway, where he now lives in Craughwell with his wife and their three cats. Upon moving to Galway, he has spent the last two years working for Diligent, a Galway-based US company. Here, he assumed a Field Marketing role, where he was responsible for managing events, webinars and digital campaigns for their UK and Ireland business.

Outside of work, James is a big sports fan, with a particular passion for Aston Villa, who he travels over to see a couple of times each year. He also enjoys music, particularly rock and indie, and tries to get to as many live gigs as possible. Other interests include travelling, having recently returned from a trip to New Zealand. When time permits, James also enjoys running, going to the gym, and gardening.

Speaking about the appointment to his new role:

“I am very excited to be joining the Channel Mechanics team and look forward to the latest chapter in my career. I am delighted to be joining a welcoming, knowledgeable, and passionate team. Channel Mechanics has grown from strength to strength, and I am proud to be a part of a Galway-based company that is having such an impact on the world stage. I look forward to learning and growing within the company and using my skills to help the company continue its growth”
