Channel Mechanics is delighted to announce our latest hire as that of John Emmett. John joins the team as a Software Engineer.
A Donegal native, John commenced his studies with a Bachelors in Corporate Law at the National University of Ireland (NUI) Galway in 2014. However, upon graduating he undertook a local course in Software Development in Donegal, during whichtime he spent a summer interning as a QA tester in PGIM Ireland. During his placement, John tailored testing procedures to obtain data and evaluated data sets from multiple test implementations, as well as shadowing experienced employees and upskilling his IT skills.
Upon completing this internship, John decided to pursue a career in Software Development. Therefore, he returned to NUI Galway to study a post grad Higher Diploma in Software Development and Design. John completed his degree in 2017 and joined the team in Storm Technologies as a Software Developer Consultant. John spent 4 years with Storm working on several short-term projects, including working with the Channel Mechanics team!
With restrictions easing, and Covid becoming a thing of the past, John decided it was time for a change of scenery. And so, packed up his bags and headed off on his travels to Toronto, Canada. Since his relocation, we are delighted that after years of working together, John has officially joined the Channel Mechanics team directly. Certainly, John brings with him a wealth of experience from his previous roles, honing skills in C#, Unit testing, SQL, Databases, Software Design Patterns and Mobile Applications.
Outside of work, John enjoys going for walks and staying active in the gym. He also enjoys relaxing on the couch watching Netflix, as well as exploring all his new home has to offer!
Speaking about the appointment to his new role:
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to join the Channel Mechanics Team. I’m certainly well acquainted with the team from previous projects and I am happy to be back working with them. The company has made big strides recently and I’m happy to be part of that going forward”.
