Channel Mechanics delights today in announcing the appointment of Lewis Savage. Lewis joins the team in the position of Software Engineer, where he will be predominantly working on implementing the Blazor framework to further enhance the platform.
Lewis’ journey as a software developer notably began at a young age. His curiosity lead him to delve into the world of coding, crafting small games which ultimately ignited his passion for technology. As he grew up, he was grateful to have the opportunity to gain practical experience by undertaking part-time development work at his father’s company. Subsequently, it was these early experiences which solidified his decision to pursue a career in software development.
Seeking to further enhance his knowledge and skills, Lewis enrolled at the Munster Technological University, where he pursued studies in software development. His dedication and persistence paid off, and he graduated with a first-class honors. Moreover, this degree provided him with a solid foundation to excel in the industry.
During his academic journey, he secured a valuable work placement opportunity with Snap-on Diagnostics, a company renowned for its innovative solutions. Upon completion of his degree, he secured a full-time position with Snap-on, where he contributed to their cutting-edge projects. The experience was certainly transformative for Lewis’ career, gaining invaluable insights from seasoned professionals.
However, life had a new adventure in store for Lewis, and following two years with Snap-on, he made the decision to move to England, setting his sights on new opportunities across the channel. It was at this time he was simultaneously introduced to Channel Mechanics CTO, Denis Cronin, through a personal connection. This introduction ultimately sparked the beginning of an exciting journey with the Channel Mechanics team. In this role, Lewis will focus on enhancing existing functionalities of the platform, as well as creating entirely new features.
In his spare time, he still continues his passion for game development, spending a lot of his downtime working on an ongoing passion project. Additionally, he also has a passion for music and playing guitar.
