Channel Mechanics is delighted to announce a new appointment to our team, as we welcome Mike Sampier to the position of Sr. Security Manager.
A native of Salthill in Galway, Mike started his career in Information Technology working as a Team Lead for Hewlett Packard’s Global Operations & Incident Management Team. Over a four year period, he was introduced to the multifaceted world of network and cybersecurity, its own boundless ecosystem within Information Technology.
Since then, he has achieved a Specialist Diploma in Information & Network Security from the University of Limerick and an MSc in Applied Cybersecurity from the Technical University Dublin. Following his time in Hewlett Packard, Mike progressed to Oracle as a Senior Project Manager for several Cloud-based customers, followed by working as a Sales & Solution’s Engineer in TitanHQ.
Following on from this, Mike took up roles with Fidelity Investments. Firstly, as a Senior Cybersecurity Systems Engineering Analyst, followed by a Cybersecurity Technology Risk Analyst position. In between this timeframe, he continued to upskill as he pursued and completed an MSc in Cybersecurity Management from MTU.
Outside of work, Mike enjoys keeping fit by going to the gym, watching rugby and playing the guitar when he has time. He also enjoys switching off and spending time outdoors, connecting with nature and walking his dog.
Mike will commence his second semester of an MSc in Cybersecurity, Privacy and Trust in South-East Technical University in September. In his ever-evolving field of cybersecurity, he strongly believes in staying at the top of his field, when it comes to his position.
