Channel Mechanics

Niall Martin, Software Developer

Channel Mechanics is delighted to present the newest member to our EMEA team as we welcome Niall Martin. Niall takes up the position of Software Developer within our team.

Originating from Co. Monaghan, Niall studied Computer Science & IT in NUIG, graduating with a Bachelors degree in 2016. Upon graduating, Niall worked as a Systems Engineer in SL Controls, based in Galway. Throughout his time here, he worked on their software platform, handling batch manufacturing lines for technology industries such as Abbotts, Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer.

In 2018, Niall made the move to Vancouver, Canada, where he worked as a software developer in Homewood Health, a leading mental health and addiction services company in Canada. Here he worked on their web platform that handled session, scheduling, billing, therapist assignments and more.

In 2020, after a short sabbatical, Niall moved back to Ireland and joined the Dell team as a senior software engineer. Here, he worked on their Team Member Experience division, working on a solution to enable employees to have cloud hosted emails in Office 365. In addition, he worked on projects for the CEO, Michael Dell.

Outside of work, Niall likes to stay active by hiking and playing sport. He has played Gaelic football with a number of different clubs over the years. And during his time in Canada, he discovered a love for Snowboarding. However, there isn’t much opportunity for this in Ireland! He also enjoys watching films and video games in his spare time.

Speaking about the appointment to his new role:

“I’m delighted to be joining the Channel Mechanics team, where everyone has been extremely welcoming and kind. The company has been on the up and up, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to learn from and make contributions to an already incredibly strong group”.
