Channel Mechanics is delighted to announce a new appointment to our team, as we welcome Niamh O’Rourke to the position of Marketing Associate.
A native of Galway, Niamh studied Commerce at the University of Galway, graduating in August 2021 with a first-class honours. During her undergraduate degree, Niamh completed a one-year internship here at Channel Mechanics where she took on the role of Marketing Associate. Throughout her time here she gained valuable hands-on experience in areas including content creation, market research, social media and email marketing.
Upon completing her internship, Niamh returned to university for her final year where she decided to specialize in marketing. After completing her bachelor’s degree, Niamh broadened her experience in content creation, completing a professional diploma in Graphic Design from UCD Professional Academy.
During this time, Niamh also spent a year working in the retail industry where she worked in Gym+ Coffee. Here she took on the role of Supervisor in their flagship store. She enjoyed the fast-paced environment and the opportunity to gain experience in areas such as customer service, visual merchandising, and team management. It was a welcome return to a collaborative environment after completing her final university year online due to the pandemic.
Despite enjoying her time in retail, Niamh is now eager to jump back into the world of tech, returning to Channel Mechanics to continue her career in marketing as Marketing Associate.
Outside of work, Niamh enjoys travelling and has a keen interest in sports. She is particularly passionate about rowing having spent her school and college years training at a competitive level. She also enjoys following rugby and attending the Connacht rugby matches with her family on the weekends.
Speaking about the appointment to her new role:
“I am thrilled to be joining the Channel Mechanics team once again, at such an exciting stage of growth within the company. Following my internship here, I knew I was passionate about B2B marketing. I am eager to kick-start my career and continue gaining experience in the tech industry. Channel Mechanics has grown from strength-to-strength, and I am honoured to be working alongside such an experienced and supportive team.”
