With our continuing expansion in 2020, Channel Mechanics is delighted to announce the appointment of Dorothy Lee. Dorothy joins our EMEA headquarters, where she takes up the position of Software Developer. In her role, Dorothy will work closely with the development team to enhance our channel enablement software platform.
Upon graduating from Galway Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) in 2015 with a degree in Business Information Systems, Dorothy Lee moved to Dublin to work as a Customer Support Engineer for a Workforce Management software company. Here she joined the development team to assist with new cloud project builds.
Loving what she was doing in development, Dorothy decided to return to college to study and specialize in Software Development. When college was out, Dorothy took the opportunity to take a year out to travel in Australia. Settling in Sydney, she took a position with the Dept. of Education on their SAP HR Customer Support Team. Knowing there was still much to learn, she returned to Ireland and enrolled back in college to take up a postgrad course in Software Design and Development. Dorothy completed this course, run by the National University of Ireland, Galway, NUIG, in May 2020. As part of her course, she completed an industry project for Channel Mechanics which led to her joining the team as a Software Developer.
Outside of work, Dorothy enjoys spending quality time with family. In particular, her three baby nieces who are super energetic and like to keep her on her toes! She also loves music, concerts and festivals. And is unfortunately missing out on 6 this Summer because of the global Covid-19 pandemic. But here’s to 2021!
Speaking about her appointment to Channel Mechanics, Dorothy commented:
“I am extremely grateful to be starting my software development career with Channel Mechanics. They are such a great company and I look forward to learning from such an experienced team. I am looking forward to contributing to various projects and in turn, adding value and experience to the team.”
