Doug Raftery, Sr. Software Developer

Channel Mechanics delights today in announcing our latest appointment, with Doug Raftery taking up the position of Sr. Software Developer. 

A native of Glenamaddy in Co. Galway, Doug spent four years attending the Atlantic Technological University (formerly GMIT) where he graduated with an Honors Degree in Information Technology for Business. Upon completing his degree, he spent two years working as a Developer for SAP. This role involved developing multimedia content for their Business By Design ERP system.

Following this, Doug progressed to the role of Software Developer in Nortel, which subsequently became Avaya. He worked here for a combined total of 15 years where he was involved in architecting and developing a portfolio of applications and web services to support a wide range of partner enablement operations including quoting, ordering, subscriptions, licensing, and reporting. In addition, Doug was the development lead on many of these applications and often collaborated closely with partners and support teams across all global regions.

Furthermore, throughout his career he has been actively committed and engaged in CPD (Continuous Professional Development), holding multiple certifications. He has experience across a wide variety of development platforms and technologies including NET, REST API, Angular, and Oracle.

Doug also has a wide array of hobbies, including playing music, football and travelling. In particular he is a loyal supporter of Arsenal F.C. and travels to London to watch a game when he can. When possible, Doug enjoys combining his love for music and traveling by attending music festivals abroad. Some recent festivals he has attended include Mad Cool Festival in Madrid, Rock Werchter in Belgium, and Hyde Park Festival in London.
