Channel Mechanics is delighted to announce the newest member to our growing team. Today, we welcome Eimear O’Connor as she takes up the role of Software Engineer in our EMEA headquarters.
A native of Tipperary, Eimear attended the University of Limerick and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Business Studies. Upon completing university, Eimear headed off to London for the summer. But what started off as a summer of change quickly escalated and she spent 17 years oversees. After 17 years abroad, Eimear decided to return to Ireland in 2021 and undertook a HDip in Software Design & Development in NUI Galway. She is due to graduate in August 2022. As part of her HDip, Eimear undergos a 6-month work placement and for this we are delighted she chose Channel Mechanics. She also holds a diploma in Spanish from her trips to South and Central America. While it is obvious Eimear is passionate about travel, the pandemic has put a hold on her plans.
A sports fanatic, Eimear is an avid follower of both rugby and GAA. She played camogie and gaelic football throughout her time in London, as well as rowing Cornish pilot gigs on the Thames and the south coast of England. She also enjoys hiking and skiing.
Speaking about her appointment:
“I’m delighted to join Channel Mechanics having completed my HDip industry project for them. Everyone I’ve met so far has been so friendly and welcoming. And its so refreshing to work for an Irish company after so long living away. I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from such a knowledgeable and innovative team and excited to see where my new career in software development will take me”.
