Channel Mechanics is delighted to announce a new appointment to our team, as we welcome Michelle Nestor to the position of Sr. Support Engineer.
A native of County Clare, Michelle moved to Galway to study at GMIT where she graduated with a Diploma in Software Development and Systems Analysis. After graduating, she obtained her first Software Development role, where her primary involvement focused on updating the legacy code for large multi-nationals looking to resolve the Y2K problem. This role allowed Michelle to establish her career in the world of IT as a Software Developer.
Since then, Michelle has accumulated a wealth of experience within the IT industry, bringing 25 years of knowledge and expertise to the team. In particular, she has spent several years working with Avaya, formerly Nortel. Her career with Avaya started initially as a Software Developer, where she worked on configuration applications for the sale of telecommunication systems.
She later advanced her career to the position of Application Development Leader for their e-commerce application. In this role, she was responsible for the online sale of Avaya Professional Services. As well as this, one of Michelle’s key responsibilities included building strong customer relationships. This skill continues to be an element of her job she most enjoys. She is confident that she can bring a vast extent of experience from different areas of the IT industry to her new role with Channel Mechanics.
Michelle currently lives in Ballinrobe, County Mayo with her husband and three daughters. Thus, her weekends are usually filled with supporting her daughters at their dance competitions and sports games. She also enjoys staying active by going for a run several times a week or spending time in the garden.
Speaking about the appointment to her new role:
“I am delighted to be joining Channel Mechanics and I’m really looking forward to the challenge ahead. Even though it’s a new company for me there are so many familiar faces that it already feels like home. As a relatively new company it has achieved so much already, and I can’t wait to be a part of its future success.”
