Channel Mechanics

Peadar ó Maoldúin, Technical Architect

As Channel Mechanics continues on it’s strong growth trajectory, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Peadar ó Maoldúin. Peadar joins our EMEA headquarters team in Galway, taking up the position of Senior Software Developer.

In his new role, Peadar will steer the design and implementation of new features within our Channel Automation SaaS platform. His appointment enforces our commitment to the best application and tools possible for our customers.

Hailing from Kingscourt, Co. Cavan, Peadar lives in the same place his family has been living since as far back as the 1700s. Following his sister’s lead to attend the then University College Galway, Peadar graduated in 1992 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

After a spell in research, including a year working in Germany, Peadar switched full time into IT. It is here he has been applying the analytical and problem-solving skills from his Engineering background, for some 25 years.

Peadar has worked for a number of Galway-based firms over the years, including DMT and Storm Technology, but most recently Avaya and Nortel.  His roles here included ongoing development and maintenance of Enterprise Commercial Tool Web Applications and Databases, particularly in Product and Pricing, as well as leading development work on projects adding value to the whole suite of Tools.

Speaking about his appointment to Channel Mechanics, Peadar commented:

“Channel Mechanics is for me a real home-from-home. Not only am I looking forward to forging great working relationships with new colleagues, but I also get to again work with some old friends I’ve known for many years. There’s a great blend of experience and youth in the team. And I’m excited to have the opportunity to add my experience to the mix.”

Peadar ó Maoldúin

Being a country boy at heart, Peadar enjoys spending his downtime outdoors, but also makes time to spend with family.  He enjoys an eclectic taste in music (from Johnny Cash to 1980s Thrash Metal, and everything in between). His eclectic taste also transcends to movies (from superhero blockbusters to Almodóvar). He is a keen genealogist. Something which provides an excellent reason to travel to meet with extended family all over Ireland and the United States, as well as Australia and New Zealand.
