Channel Mechanics is delighted to announce a new appointment to our team, as we welcome Sean Heneghan to the position of Chief Customer Officer.
A native of Galway, Sean graduated from The Open University achieving a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree. Since completing his degree, he has held multiple technology leadership positions across the Information and Communications, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical and Automotive industries. In such roles, Sean has held a variety of key responsibilities including ownership for Software Development, Software Services Delivery, IT Compliance & Security, IT Infrastructure and Customer Support.
Having worked extensively in the tech sector, with companies such as Digital Equipment, Nortel, and more recently Avaya, where Sean performed the role of IT Applications Director. These roles involved management of software development teams, program prioritization and customer support. His responsibilities included global IT ownership for Point-of-Sale and Renewals applications. These applications configured, priced, discounted, and ordered products and services for vendors and their distributors and partners.
Sean’s experience also extends across multiple industry sectors including Healthcare, where he assumed the role of IT Manager at Abbott. Here, he helped to enable a green field site managing the build of the IT Infrastructure required and deploying the software systems to support a global manufacturing healthcare location. In addition, this also included creating the IT organization and processes necessary to support a new healthcare manufacturing site.
Throughout Sean’s 25+ years of delivering Software and Technology solutions and services, key focus areas have been and continue to be, providing solutions that support customers in their “Ease of Doing Business” and “Digital Transformation” journeys. While doing so, he also successfully led programs on behalf of the “Voice of the Customer“. Specifically, driving and managing change and functionality enhancements, and accelerating business process improvements have been key responsibilities throughout Sean’s career.
Outside of work, Sean is passionate about sport and staying active. He enjoys keeping up to date with Gaelic Football, Hurling, Soccer, and Basketball. Along with his wife Orla, he particularly enjoys watching his three sons Dara, Conor, and Jack play Gaelic Football, and the family time and fun it promotes. Furthermore, Sean likes to stay active through hiking and travelling.
